It’s played by connecting strings of adjoining letters to find words.
I don’t want to lose this game if/when the MycenaCave goes offline for good.
Is it like boggle with a different kind of grid?
There are many variants of this style of game, but I haven’t found a singular unified term for this style of game, and yours is the only one comprised of pentagons that I’ve seen. Most I’ve seen are either squares, or the letters are in a circle and can be connected to any other letter.
I’d think they’d share a name with boggle or word searches, as they have similar play patterns and rulesets.
I have’t played that before, but sounds something between NYT’s Strands and the Bookworm games; word search games. Maybe someone else knows something exactly similar.

Edit: Celeste mentioned boggle. I found this one, but the board is smaller than your game above.
Wordsearch?
So that’s a type of wordsearch but a completely unique version
The most basic type of wordsearch uses a pre-defined set of answers, usually visible at the side, and crosses off answers where you go - this one instead appears to be unlimited (you can have any words you find in the grid) with unlimited use of letters (game is just timed.)
Someone could program a recreation of it and make a new dailygame if you wanted to preserve it :)
