This is the most incompetent, incoherent war America has fought in the last 100 years. And that’s saying a lot. This administration has no idea what they are doing. There is no viable war plan. They change their goals and their aims every single day.
I have great sympathy for our soldiers and our military leaders. They are being given directions by a senile old man who is losing his mind. And so, it’s no surprise that this war is going horribly.
Even before his mental decline/2025 stroke, Trump has no concern for the finer details of any military operation. He is profoundly uncurious, which makes him easy to puppet.
This war is the brainchild of fundamentalist psychopaths in Israel and the Heritage Foundation. Chaos is the goal, and the loss in life and treasure is of no concern to them because it’s not their lives or treasure.
I don’t like that I have heard a non zero number of people on the Christian extreme that are cheering this on because they think that is the start of Armageddon and Jesus is coming.
Playing out that scenario for a minute. They’ll be really fucking shocked when the Jesus that shows up is a brown hippie and not a white Republican in a suit and that by their rules, they’re all going to the lake of fire, not the rest of us.
Christian Dominionism.
Their particularly vile interpretation of several individual passages in the Bible says that if America is a “Christian kingdom” at the time of Armageddon, then the US will reign over the second garden.
It’s like believing the lord of the rings really happened… fantasy, sheesh
What are you trying to say? Gandalf has answered many of my prayers.
you know, that’s fair
If there were no hobbits then why do we have golf?
If Gandalf wasn’t real then why is pipeweed?
Why would the garden of Eden need rulers?
We all desire a strong, Domineering Daddy to tell us what to do and punish us when we step out of line. It’s a totally normal feeling and we shouldn’t think too much about it.
Obviously.
If you can actually answer why they’d believe that, and all the nuances of interpretation involved, you’d probably have some key insights into why MAGA is deluded in the specific ways that they are.
They are going to be surprised when Jesus is glowing with megatons of radiation and fire and then they are just gone.
I suggest you watch this. https://youtu.be/WFWizN3QoPg
A war that shouldn’t be happening, waged by a man who should be in jail, run by an administration of unqualified officials, at the expense of a people already priced out of their own nation.
Never have I seen a more concise sentence in my life!
.
at the expense of a people being bombed.
Original comment is well stated if a bit one sided.
I have great sympathy for our soldiers and our military leaders. They are being given directions by a senile old man who is losing his mind. And so, it’s no surprise that this war is going horribly.
I don’t. They should have turned against the current administration and the president long time ago. At the very least when this war was going to start. They didn’t and still follow orders that weren’t legal at the beginning, not questioning what they are doing.
Imagine making a post about this war and expressing sympathy for the soldiers bombing schools and not even mentioning the civilians being killed with a single word.
They had record recruiting numbers in 2025. The soldiers want this.
Well those don’t have my sympathy for sure
Any soldier you see in any combat footage today has been deployed as far back as January, 2026
If someone was in the military, saw what was happening around July last year, and got out how ever they could- should they hate themselves for throwing away their career?
Asking for a friend.
Absolutely not. Pro gamer move.
Legit. Thanks.
To be fair, who’s to say this hasn’t happened? Obviously not to the extent it should, but. If there are any conscientious objectors in the military would we even hear about them? The brigs may be crowded even now.
I would say all of the dead school children we recently bombed would have a word about it.
If there are leaders disobeying then it’s certainly not the ones pushing the buttons.
It’s a war that shouldn’t be happening to begin with. Anyone who actually cares about American national security wants green energy. That’s the only way we get out of the Middle East.
Oil means centralized control through imposed scarcity. You can’t stop the sun and wind…yet, but I’m sure they’re working on it.
Wouldn’t it be just so on brand if the instead of blackening the sky to stop the AI (i.e. The Matrix) we did it to keep people from getting unlimited free power without paying some oligarch for it?
I mean, that is the more likely scenario right now. I hate this timeline. Time to go make papercuts between my toes to see if it skips to a new track.
How else are we going to solve global warming? /S (but seriously the oligarchs are pushing for geoengineering as a way to not stop burning oil)
Montgomery Burns has an idea about that.
Some of the long-term consequences of global warming are going to be absence of clouds and extreme winds. Maybe these bastards are just thinking really long-term.
This. I just never understood people that piss on wind and solar and EVs and just generally reevaluating our energy uses pretend to be “patriots” by simping for Big Oil.
If we can become truly energy independent, we don’t have to be embroiled in all this stuff. Sure, Israel will still be a problem for entirely different reasons, but we have all these weird dynamics with monstrous leaders, and all because of the oil.
America wants to be embroiled in all this stuff. When you’re a unipolar hegimon, it’s very hard to let go.
China creating a larger gap in renewables and robotics will ultimately be what relegates the US to the number two position and from there it’s not going to be pretty.
No no, we’ll leave when the wells run dry.
America does not want to be out of the Middle East.
Gubmint clearly doesn’t. The government isn’t serious about national security, they’re serious about committing insider trading. But the people? There were absolutely people who believed Trump on “no new wars.”
It’s going horribly because it is a stupid fucking war and Iran has geographic advantages in that it is positioned right next to the most important energy transit point on the planet. Going to war Iran is inherently stupid. It is a dumbfuck thing to do
Yeah and then to panic and act like oil prices going up is a huge surprise is frankly idiotic. What the fuck did you really expect to happen when attack a country that produces 20% of the world’s oil supply and is near the energy shipping lane, strait or hormuz?
I think the pedophile actually thought Iran was just going to bow down and give up to imperialism after day one when they thought killing the Ayatollah was going to just magically win the whole thing.
He doesn’t care. The only thing he wanted is to show that he can blow things up (accomplished), and to have less people point out that he is in the Epstein files every single day (apparently working). I think that is why he had the reaction ‘some people are going to die, that’s what happens in war’. The complete indifference is staggering. He is a self centered moronic bully that just fucks things up and then just walks away with the ‘not my problem’ mentality.
Oil prices going up makes his oil-producing buddies richer and the deal with Venezuela more profitable. No matter how this ends, he and the rest of the psychopaths in his orbit profit from it.
Unless the goal wasn’t to win the war but sabotage that transit point while dropping sanctions on a certain nation so it could re-fill its war chest?
Tinfoil time…
Didn’t have a problem starting it for him though. Whatsamatter, senator’s investments aren’t going as planned?

so incredibly tone deaf to claim sympathy for the soldiers and leaders of an aggressor, who made the conscious decision to follow those orders
so fucking tone deaf. shame on you, OP. it’s disgusting. people have agency. those following orders are equally culpable
That’s a quote of what the congressman said, not OP’s own words. I’ll admit they didn’t make it super clear with quotation marks, but OP is just sharing an article
Personally, I think this is another great example of dems “doing everything they can” by… using stern words of disapproval with instead of actually fucking doing their jobs
Intellectually/spiritually/financially impoverished slaves conditioned to be as abusive as the system that reared them and still provides them their “necessities”. I like to think of imperialists as semi-conscious children with serious behavioral disorders+no early-life training for how to interact in non-hostile ways with other beings, who have been convinced by lead-poisoned racist authority figures that growing up to become a cog in an infinite plundering machine is honorable life path. All it takes is some reframing… maybe some of them end up waking themselves up to the whole mess in time to, at the very least, remove themselves from the process and re-evaluate their behaviors/priorities, begin growing their desire for truth-seeking, appreciation of nature, personal growth, or just living in the real world outside of 24/7/365 imperial conquest mode
This is like saying “Germany did terrible things in WWII – they made grave tactical errors”. This article is more of an indictment of Chris Murphy than anything else.
When does Trump command the stoners to attack?
The soviet invasion of Afghanistan was also the outcome of a short sighted decision from a dying old man.
History rhymes, I suppose.
And 12 years later the Soviet Union dissolved. I wonder if we are on that same path.
That and having a DUI hire that has driven out principled professionals and installed frat boys at the highest levels.
Obeying illegal orders is obviously illegal.
Ah good. More from the Democrat playbook of saying mildly provocative things about Trump and then doing nothing about it.
Hey… Chucky is writing a very strongly worded letter as we speak! I heard he even included a few curse words, words such as “damn” and at least one or two “shits”! Things are heating up, man. Have faith!

As opposed to storming Congress and trashing the building?
Democrat or Republican, the voice of the people is dead. America is a corporate machine now. The only thing that speaks for the people is the stock market.
Citizen’s United ensured that. Money is speech. Dissent is terrorism.
I love how you jumped straight to referencing Jan 6, as if that’s literally the only alternative to mealy mouthed, completely useless statements of opposition.
By all means, let’s you and I decide to hate each other, instead of trying to reclaim our country back from our corporate overlords.
Careful! They might sit down in the senate! Or they might start having their social media manager write satirical tweets in all caps!
Thank goodness we have these people in our camp. /s (for clarity, the /s refers to “thank goodness” and “in our camp”)
Americans, what are your views of all this going on? It’s almost as if Iran is accomplishing things… Like we know marching in the streets doesn’t really change anything here in USA and that there’s the possibility voting won’t matter either. In a way it “feels” like Iran is doing more to save people from America’s fascism than Americans are.
I wish I was more educated, but it “feels” like imo no one should be siding with America. Like I said I am not very educated so I say that as an unsure but intuitive feeling. Frankly American culture and 1st world culture in general seems out of hand and out of touch with honest genuine humanity.
We’re a full fledged fascist state now, concentration camps and everything else involved. We weren’t great before but now we’re just more evil than China, on par with Russia just invading countries for no good reason.
it “feels” like imo no one should be siding with America.
As far as I know, no other country besides Israel has sided with the U.S.
The people here have no power. The elections have been rigged for years - not necessarily by directly manipulating ballots, but by using gerrymandering (unfair voting districts) and by allowing unlimited corporate money into elections (Citizens United, 2010).
The executive branch can only be reigned in by Congress or the Supreme Court. Both seem unwilling or unable to hold the Trump admin accountable. The next step will be federal agents (probably ICE) engaging in voter intimidation at the polls. They will try to take over the actual verification and count the votes themselves.
As an American citizen, I can tell you that the current administration’s actions are completely divorced from public consensus and desire for war. The unfortunate reality is that our representation at the federal level is so diluted and insignificant that no amount of public polling would change the administration’s mind (and as a matter of personal opinion, I think the midterms may not be able to course correct the ship either at this point). You only need to look at the impunity of ICE’s actions as a simple frame of reference.
Granted, I am a college educated person in a more “left leaning” state of the country, and have enough research and context about this situation to know that these actions are not rational nor beneficial for our geopolitical or national interests. That isn’t the case for the majority of the nation, unfortunately.
There are plenty of people who are able to be influenced, either through well-funded media campaigns or with the allure of being able to benefit from the situation (such as those who work for the military industrial complex and the AI companies who will have a field day selling lethal autonomous software to the DoD). Many will be more than happy to turn a blind eye to the suffering that will be borne by the soldiers involved, the civilians involved, and international disruptions to trade and stability for personal gain or blissful ignorance.
Even for those who have a sense of compassion for their fellow human beings, there’s simply a lot on their plate that pulls their attention away from the war. Those who can afford to be politically active have little incentive to do so, and those who would like to see deescalation cannot afford to be politically active.
I completely empathize with those who do not side with this current war of aggression. Just keep in mind that “siding with America” in this context is with the Federal Government and perhaps a portion of Congress, not with the average citizen or even a majority of US states. If Pacifica/Cascadia became an option for us west coasters, it might be worth taking nowadays.
Even Iran gets this though. They always phrase their press releases “The American Regime” this or that. You’re hitting the nail on the head though. The propaganda is working on the masses while the rest of us watch in horror.
Trump is a traitor. He’s acting in his own. He’s a serial child rapist and child murderer and now he’s unilaterally killing children on the other side of the world. He does not care about human life. Americans have been fighting him for over a decade now.
I mean he’s not wrong
And a genocidal maniac that the remaining free world has issued an arrest warrant for
