I had dysphoria all along, but could only identify it in retrospect. I didn’t think I was depressed all the time, it was normal. I was just like that.

When I had a single digit age, I have a memory of basically inventing the concept of being nonbinary from first principles. I thought it would be great to be neither a boy or a girl, to be something that’s neither. Then I dismissed the idea because it wasn’t a real thing, because as far as everything I had heard at the time, it wasn’t.

Its good that gender is something that is much more talked about, and that many young people know about this sort of thing. I would have been spared multiple decades of literal torture if I knew about trans and nonbinary people in my early years.

Control. Unions get a seat at the negotiating table. With a union things have to be done by mutual agreement, and the workers have recourse if things go wrong. Being a manager is much more powerful without a unionized workforce, finance notwithstanding.

They often personally take unionization as an insult or betrayal, so they try and get revenge using the one thing available to them at that stage. With overwhelming support, it’s only a matter of time before the vote passes and they are forced to recognize the union.

This is not uncommon. Managers want to rule over people without restraint even in nonprofits.

Moderator actions are public. They are all documented in the modlog, including promotions and removals of moderators. This is nothing like the tesseract situation. All mod actions are all logged, and published in the standard place where anyone expects to find them, and are free to review at any time.

I think moderators upon removal should have the option to leave quietly and on their own terms. I don’t think the reasons for their removal should be made into a big public spectacle in a case like this where their conduct wasn’t even egregious enough to warrant a community ban at the time.
