    its real actually.

AI image fake. Notice how every window is a portal to a different world. The pavement texture changes at the wheel in the middle of the image. AI image generation is bad at having consistant backgrounds when occluded by something in the foreground.

    Also mega anachronistic.

  • The father in the interview is black. This isn’t a race thing.

He wants his daughter to get a good education. As an air traffic controller, he surely knows the value of education because he works a job that takes a lot of education and training to get into. Public schools in the united states are very bad, and underfunded. Private middle and high schools are common in cities and are usually much better than the public schools. Its a good choice for anyone with the means, which he had every other month this year.

Racism is systemic. It is behind the right wing policies that constantly underfund education. It is rarely the driver of individuals. Individual’s decisions are shaped by the options available more than anything else. Sending his daughter to a private school is the best choice for a father in his position. Hold your ire for those in positions of power.

  • The people writing these laws don’t even know that trans men exist. There is no logic beyond it. Most anti-trans sports bans just go with the birth certificate because that targets transfems, and doesn’t take further thought.

If their goal was fairness, and they genuinely believed that being trans gives an unfair advantage at every sport, they would make the men’s division open to all, and the women’s division only allow cis women under the strictest possible definition. But they don’t do that. They are transphobes. That’s their only motivation.

  • If your income does not have withholdings you are required to make payments quarterly. If you owe above a certain amount when filing your tax returns you have to pay a penalty.

You can write exempt on the withholding form to stop your employer from withholding, but the forms are very clear that it is only to be done if you owe no tax. Unless you earn less than $16k or whatever the standard deduction is for you, it would be unwise to not make advanced tax payments.

You can file your forms differently to avoid paying the feds, or delaying those payments, but you do so at personal risk.
