Just to get the conversation going: What project is under your sewing machine at the moment?
Honestly, just trying to get motivated to fix old clothes… Got a basket full of clothes with holes.
Would need to tighten one binder too, but not trusting my skills yet. I mostly use just a needle and thread, too scared/lazy/unmotivated to learn how to use the sewing machine properly.
I’m the complete opposite, I would not trust my hand sewing to stay in place for more than two days :)
Haha, never thought that! To be honest, my first sewings didn’t stay in place even two days… :D I should get it into my head that messing up with the machine is also not serious, I can just do it again and better.
Yeah. Opening a machine seam is supremely annoying but absolutely doable.
Mine’s the shirt dress from The Assembly Line. Currently, I am finalizing the toile, and I hope I can start cutting into my proper cloth tomorrow!
I’m gaining more and more ideas for clothes. I went to a drag show and there was this one performer “emo boy” dressed in hot pink with a really cute skirt and I want that skirt. Also cosplayer on reddit showing off shiny swimsuit-leotard type thing that also looks really good. I wanna slay but I need cute hot clothes to do so. I wanna sew because there’s no way off the shelf stuff will fit me.
Yup, that was basically my motivation for starting to sew, too! :)

Finishing my knitted cardigan. Not exactly sewing, but the next project will be… probably! Will be the first thing I’ve sewed in a long time, so it will be a learning project.
