What’s at stake is whether “protecting children” becomes a legal pretext for embedding government control over the internet to enforce specific moral and religious judgments—judgments that deny marginalized people access to speech, community, history, and truth—into law.

    I am shocked I tell you. It’s never about the kids, or the family unit, or the fabric of society. It’s about exerting their will upon others. And playing us all as numbers in their stats games.

      I’m shocked that so many on Lemmy are siding with it. Look at the systemd conversations and like 1/3 of them are saying it’s a “nothing burger” (yes, the words they used).

      I just tag them all as ‘fed/magat’ and move on, but the number of them is disappointing.
