Well I’m still young, I meant the time when I had no worries and I could do whatever I wanted, these were supposed to be the best years of my life, but I spent all that time in my room. I have almost nothing to remember, and what I do remember I would prefer to forget. What a miserable life.

Being young is highly overrated. Have you considered that the best years of your life could be just whichever ones you spent doing things that made you happy?

High school isn’t the best years of your life, or at least won’t be for most people. High school is the time that many decisions are made for you, your health is possibly at its peak, and your responsibilities are at their minimum, but there is much more to life.

Its hard when you have only been a child your whole life to conceive of all the choices opening up to you when you become an adult, but being an adult allows you to make decisions leading to happiness you probably couldn’t imagine as a teen. Your joy and your experiences are out there and now you have the ability to reach out and seize them

Of course you need to make a living, but other than that, as an adult you’re free to do as you wish. You can pick up any hobby you can afford or work towards every one you can’t afford. You can move to the other side of the world. You can get a new identity and leave everything behind.

It won’t necessarily be easy, but there are options when you’re an adult.

That life isn’t over, and you can choose to make it what you want for what remains. You’re resilient enough to have gotten here. While others settle and slow down, find a passion and chase it for a bit.

Being a kid without a care in the world and no responsibilities > Being the cool uncle with a good job who takes his niece or nephew out for a day trip kinda thing, buying them whatever they want and giving them back to their parents at the end of the day. (And their siblings are super jealous but they know if they don’t act up, their turn is coming.)
