Loved the movie as a kid. Had the LP, would listen to that record all the time and be able to see on my minds eye the movie as the vinyl spun round and round. Lost it as time progressed and I got older. My family recently started collecting records again and while in the record store my wife calls out to me and hold up a copy of The Black Hole. Gatefold with the story pages intact. It was an immediate buy. Got home and put that thing on right away and it is PERFECT. What a fantastic movie and being able to share it (had to skip Perkins’s final encounter with Maximilian as my daughter was too young) and having to explain the last scenes with my family is greatness.

Post a pic of the record itself. Was it still intact?
It plays perfectly.

that’s so cool. thanks for sharing
Severely underrated!
that one time Disney actually tried doing something out there
Extremely disappointed that the rumored remake didn’t come to fruition. But maybe it’s for the best.
it’s disney so it is either Tron Legacy or Tron Jared Leto and neither of them are any particularly exceptional at anything so there aren’t that many chance for The Black Hole remake to be anything worthwhile.
Yeah. The project seems dead anyway, so…
the best chance is to throw a metric fuckton of money at Nolan to do his thing. But he already did his space movie so it is unlikely he’ll be down for it unless Disney lets him go Tenet batshit
Kosinksi was supposed to do it; I think that they even had a script and everything :(
he got screwed by Disney with Tron sequel. Legacy wasn’t great but it had some ideas brewing and the leaked script for the sequel had some promise… that fly swatted by Ares repurposing its general shapes and utterly wasting it on some nondescript cyberpunk corporate shenanigans and digital invasion into the real world as bluntly as humanly possible. At least we got Oblivion out of it
Ernest Borgnine kicks ass.
as always
