Some women don’t care about men’s mental health. Many do, as is right.

Some men used to perform lobotomies on various people they deemed ‘mentally ill’ (not all women). Nowadays, almost none do, as is correct.

This is just inciting a gender war to distract us from the class war.

But I don’t care about “men’s” mental health. I care about the men in my life’s mental health.

I mean seriously. There’s about 4 billion men in the world. I can’t worry about them all.

Yeah, outside the people I know my concerns for strangers’ mental health really just falls down to “I want my taxes to help fund social programs and universal healthcare, both of which I want to help improve mental health for everyone.”

If I see a stranger clearly having a struggle on the street, I’m not getting involved. It’s not callousness, it’s not related to gender, it’s that I’m busy and I’ve been burnt by trying to help before.

It was seen as “low class” for a baby to be born with only a nurse present, so:

During her birth, the doctor was not immediately available because of an outbreak of the Spanish influenza epidemic, and the nurse ordered Rose Kennedy to keep her legs closed, forcing the baby’s head to stay in the birth canal for two hours. The action resulted in a harmful loss of oxygen.[3] As Rosemary began to grow, her parents noticed she was not reaching the basic developmental steps normally reached at a certain month or year. At two years old, she had a hard time sitting up, crawling, and learning to walk.

      […]

Her occasionally erratic behavior frustrated her parents; her father was especially worried that Kennedy’s behavior would shame and embarrass the family and damage his and his children’s political careers.[3][18] When Kennedy was 23 years old, doctors told her father that a lobotomy would help calm her mood swings and stop her occasional violent outbursts.[19][20] Joe Sr. decided that Rosemary should have a lobotomy; however, he did not inform his wife of this decision until after the procedure was completed.

I’m pretty sure that 100% of the women I know care about men’s mental health. Since it’s too often a cause of death. Men need to stop caring about women caring about their mental health and care about it themselves (enabling or reinforcing toxic beliefs isn’t positive mental health).

Edit: I just noticed the community. Sorry, this probably wasn’t my place to speak up. Feel free to delete my comment.

Dismissing an issue while also further stoking the flames of sexism. What a great contribution to society :/
