Gotta respect her attitude. It’s a role that will get hate and backlash no matter how good or bad it winds up being.

And honestly, I’m rooting for the film. Liked Woman of Tomorrow and Superman (2025) quite a lot.

Milly Alcock is awesome and I wish her all the success in the world.

I plan on buying tickets for this movie just to piss off the Incels.

An actor does not define a movie. Superhero movies have been overdone, poorly written, regardless of gender of the hero.

Calling people incels because they don’t like a movie is pretty stupid.

I call them incels because they are sexists malignant assholes.

And actors most certainly define movies.

I don’t think superheroe movies have been overdone, MCU has overdone their formula. When they tried something new (Ragnarock, winter soldier…) They got good results. Then they tried the same again and failed.

        DC was just bad.

Spiderverse movies are great, and the Superman movie is quite good. Invincible (show, not movie) is also very good, as it was there boys for the first few seasons.

An actor can have a massive influence on a movie. Street fighter would have been unwatchable without Raul Julia. It’s worth watching for him alone.

I have a theory about why I don’t care for superhero movies. Watch those two clips:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5olbmhS_rs

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhf4_hQf8qo

Those is people about to die in Guardians:

This is a person about to die in Raiders:

It’s not that I believe Indiana Jones is going to die in the opening scene. Of course he will be fine. It’s that I believe HE believes he can die. It’s entertaining because I believe HE is scared.

In Guardians I don’t see any emotions. They are moments from death and they just stand there cracking jokes. If they are not worried why should I be? There’s no suspense so it’s boring. It’s like watching video game walk through. or a CGI Rube Goldberg machine. Things happens in some predetermined order and everything works out eventually. The sequence may be visually impressive but in the end it’s meaningless. It all just feels fake. Apparently other people can empathize with a CGI tree and that’s fine. For me it’s like watching Mario die.

P.S. Another detail. With Indiana I know what the danger is: if he falls he dies. I can see how he struggles so I see it’s difficult for him. In Guardians at no point I believe the rockets can harm them. I’m sure even if they are hit by one directly they will just bounce off a wall and get up. I also don’t know what the badger is doing. He has to connect some wires but is it difficult? How probable it is that he will fail? I don’t know so I assume it’s not important. It’s just something he will do to unlock next sequence. I find watching someone do unimportant things boring.

I lack words to describe how lame this looks. Did they just slap “make a superman movie like the guardians” in a prompt?

Last volume of Woman of Tomorrow (8) released on April 2022, few months before chatGPT was made public, creating the AI scene.

But let’s not let facts distract from baseless hatred. You can just not be interested on the movie, you don’t need to make up justifications. Unless you think your reasons are somehow… Shameful.

Shameful? No. It just looks shit like all superman slop. Superman and his ilk are just boring heros. I’m not ashamed to say that. So many amazing stories and characters not superman or related, but hey, this one is about supergirl. Its totally new and exciting.
