Depends what you consider TV and depends what you consider social media, if lemmy and youtube count as social media than TV
Social Media and Television have both been ruined by capitalism, I could go without either.
I mean, we don’t watch TV anyway and literally every single friend we have in our life is through social media, so… TV would be the one to toss, no question.

Can I do both?
To amplify: I haven’t watched television in nearly 15 years. I watch television shows sometimes, Jolly Rogered on my computer. But actually sitting down on the sofa to watch something on TV? Not in a loooooooooooooooooooong time.
As for social media: I’m dedigitizing my life. I’ve removed myself from all corporate social media except Discord, and that only because of some friends and family of mine continue to use it. If Fluxer starts being more reliable, however, I may even manage to drag them there. After that it’s a matter of dropping one at a time. Like I haven’t used my Pixelfed (a Fediverse knock-off of Instagram) in so long it’s not even in my browser history anymore. My Lemmy account is something I’ve drastically reduced my use of. In another ten years I probably won’t be on any social media at all.
So … can I do both?
I could go either direction or even both.
Social media, without question. I can’t give up my comfort shows, but I only use lemmy/piefed so I can drop that easily.
Depends, is the social medium owned by a fascist or billionnaire? Or is it people-owned and actively blocks and removes fascists, instead of going like “ohh they’re civil might let them stay, ignoring that they contribute to an atmosphere of hatred”?
If it’s the latter, I’d get rid of TV.
If it’s the former, get rid of both.
I do neither, unless Lemmy is considered social media. Would probably still choose to have TV and just not watch it.
I’d rather give up social media easily. I have to have my Star Trek!
Is piefed social media?
