I actually tried to find it without checking the GPS pin that I had dropped and I was unable to. Granted, it was getting dark too.
What do you do out in the forest that you need to ditch your bike?
I was scouting for a future stealth camping spot. This is the most remote forest within a bike ride from where I live. Sometimes I go check out pre-historic sites, abandoned buildings, or interesting places I’ve spotted on aerial images. Occasionally I also check places I probably shouldn’t, where there’s a non-zero chance I need to leave and disappear quickly - and it’s easier without a heavy e-bike with me. I also photograph. landscapes as well as myself in different camo (see my other post).
The usual kind of stuff the average guy in his mid-thirties does after work, right?
And who’s going to steal it?
Highly unlikely that it would actually happen, but thieves aren’t the only reason. I wouldn’t want anyone to even see it, because it signals the presence of another human - and I don’t want anyone to be aware of me. I enjoy my solitude.
