Just make sure they read it well, not just cherry picking. Nothing makes you atheist faster than actually reading the bible.
Yep, and those kids need to learn who begat who.
As a bald man, I hope they thoroughly study my favorite bible passage:
“Then Elisha went up from there to Bethel. And as he was walking along the road, some youths came out of the city and mocked him, saying, ‘Go on up, you baldhead! Go on up, you baldhead!’ Then he turned around, looked at them, and called down a curse on them in the name of the LORD. Suddenly two female bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the youths.”
That’s right kiddos, if you make fun of a bald guy, God will send bears to maul you.
They really were slightly mean to him. I guess they earned being mauled to death.
I can’t wait to see how The Satanic Temple turns this one back around on the people pushing it.

They want you to learn about David and Goliath.
They absolutely do not want you to learn about David and Bathsheba.
I’m sure they won’t read the passage in the Bible that says Goliath was actually killed by someone other than David… but that would require them to admit that the Bible contradicts itself
The bible is a collection of books… It will contradict itself as much as any long-running media franchise…
Texas parents can already use a religious exemption for sex education curriculum. So it’s time for Texas parents to turn in letters to their campuses at the start of the new school year.
School Administrators, Excuse my child from any curriculum that includes reading or discussion of the bible. Provide alternative and equitable assignments for our child to complete, so we can preview and approve them. Then our child can complete instead of the religious curriculum. These lessons violate our First Amendment constitutionally protected right to free exercise of religion. We have no way of knowing how this material will be presented without our presence in the classroom. Teaching of religion must be kept at home. — Parent‘Texas adopts Evangelical Sharia Law’
Most of them would be secular Muslims, some of who have experienced theocracies and know what that means.
It doesn’t matter if it’s Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist, etc - it’s a concentration of power which leads to the persecution of minorities and power of faith - or abuse thereof.
That’s why secularism is a seat at the table for everyone, where shared morals and values (which are plenty) are the focus rather than giving preference to any one form of faith.
That’s what separation of church and state is really all about. A separation of powers.
NOBODY should require you read the bible. Not muslims, not christians, not jews, not pagans.
Reading the Bible is one of the most effective pathways to creating atheists, so it’s a self correcting problem.
The Texas GOP convention has a united message to Muslims, “Get out of America!” The Texas Republicans have no use for the first amendment.

That’s how this is typically dealt with. Someone encourages the same treatment for other religious texts which then pisses off the Christian folk so then they repeal the whole thing…
stuipd bible thumpers aside
tbh im fairly certain muslim countries do that
