Thanks! Its a Nikon FM, a consumer level mechanical film SLR from the late 70s and early 80s. I do film now, I like it! I was going for a walk during golden hour, and I got some pictures of flowers.

      Edit: yes 😅

Lovely! I want a film cam soooo bad, i used to have this old fuji that i loved so much but it got lost in the multiple moves since then

Im generally so bad at guessing from landscape, but i couldnt forget the foliage look of my home. Oregon native, portland raised here 😊❤️

Film is fun! Its my new hobby. I love how much more deliberate and thoughtful I have to be when taking pictures on film. Sorry to hear you lost the fuji. 😭

I’m in the vicinity, if you’re ever planning a Portland blahaj meetup, be in touch!

            Absolutely will do!

Yeah i have the same feeling about film, plus the very 90’s vibe film gives off that im nostalgic for obvi. Girl you have no idea how fast i can burn through 2000 pictures on my mirrorless. It can do 10+ frames a second as stills so that doesnt help 😅. I genuinely thought about that before i evern started using it, so i got 64gb cards instead of the biggest i can get, and have a case of them that once i fill one, its done. I treat it like a film roll, i can pull the pictures, but no reusing the card. Cool thing is i have a copy of every single picture my shutter has taken, good or bad. Which is neat lol

I stopped shooting my DSLR because I would get overwhelmed by the number of bad to mediocre pictures I have to sort through. I can take thousands of pictures, and one or two is worth keeping if that. Feels demoralizing.

But on film, most bad or mediocre shots are ones I never take, because I realize it’s not worth the film. On a roll of 36 exposures, I get at least 4-6 good shots I like and want to keep, which is a way better “hitrate” than digital.

I like the idea of treating SD cards like film. I’ve done the same, except I haven’t managed to fill my first 64GB card.

I filled one and a half just at pride on saturday/sunday, and i agree its alot of mediocre or just straight bad pictures that i have to sort through. Although i think it gives a good insight on my progress, ill take less bad shots over time. Hopefully 😂

The sd card thing is neat, but buying smaller cards turns out to be MORE expensive nowadays. I wanted to go even smaller, like 32 or 16, but they were more expensive than 64 which in turn is more expensive than 128! 😅

I mean who would want tiny cards nowadays i guess but it is a bit frustratinz
