The best thing you can do, though, is still buy the music directly from sites like Bandcamp and 7Digital

And the next bandcamp Friday is in two weeks - 100% payments to artists on all purchases.

I’ve been sailing these past few months, but I might check out the Bandcamp friday. Thanks for the reminder!

I assume this must be streams per month required to earn the equivalent of working a 40hr week at minimum wage? Describing it that way would be a lot more straightforward…

Qobuz has a digital downloads store as well. The music bought can be downloaded externally like bandcamp or it can be streamed from the qobuz app with no subscription required. Beware that there often is a change in music rights and the purchased music can disappear at any time. Qobuz warns you of this though and encourage users to download their purchased music as soon as possible.

Did some math, I’m a medium-high listener using Qobuz, and my entire subscription goes to the artists.
    This makes me happy.

I’m also bad at math though.

Anyone have the same graph, but for video content makers? I’m aware YouTube cash is way down, but seeing this chart makes me realize I don’t know what I don’t know.

Couldn’t find anything quick. Ad money is going to vary by audience geo for YouTube. Twitch is a lot more dependent on sub revenue.
