Make sure you do it on a chromium browser. I did it on FF a few years ago and was confused as to why it was failing, but when I switched to Chromium it worked. Idk if they fixed that by now, it’s been two years. Not that it bricked my phone or anything, it just took more time.

I’m confused as to why we’re talking about printers since this article is only about hacking this specific brand of bluetooth speaker and using it to perform commands on a PC. If you have a different speaker then it’s fine. Plus, if your printer doesn’t have bluetooth then it won’t get hacked by this exploit anyway.

Ooh, can you go more into that? i have Opnsense as my router and this AP is just supposed to act as a WAP. I was struggling to figure out how to have it pull dhcp from the router and not to configure it on the WAP itself. That and DNS too, if the DNS isn’t configured on the interface then I get no internet access.

What hardware do you recommend?

Tbh I just picked something that was in their list of supported hardware that also operated with the Wifi bands I needed and had a good amount of Flash and RAM. Try to take the time to research what wifi drivers suck, such as Broadcomm. Mine is a Qualcomm, I got the Linksys MX5300 Velop Mesh, and now that I got my 3 wifi VLANs set it seems pretty nice. Haven’t gotten to use it much though so we’ll see, but I’m excited.

I do recommend checking how many radios it has because I was maybe considering having my Smart TV on it’s own VLAN but I don’t have enough radios for that. Maybe I’ll put it on the IoT VLAN.

Are there any that are smart enough for a SMB setting where the APs all scan other networks and then talk to each other and set their own channels and power levels to optimize WiFi traffic with minimal channel or power overlap?

I can totally recognize the fact that I’m lucky to have parents who are doing financially well and are willing to provide most of my basic needs while I finish college, which allows me to have a good credit score as I really only have to pay for gas, car stuff, and miscellaneous things.

But I can also pat myself on the back at least for not blowing through my cash and maxing my cards on stupid shit like cars & designer clothes.

And besides, it’s not like anyone gets a prize for winning the “Struggle Olympics” I just want to not be miserable in the future, and I’ll take anything I can to reach that goal.

Like others said, I’m calling bull on this. I’m young and haven’t had my card for a long time, but I pay it off in full each month and I’m in the high 700s. The only things I can remember reducing my score are: 1. My credit history is too young, 2. I only have 1 line of credit rn, and 3. I had high revolving utilization one month. So now I try to keep my utilization around 30-35%.

If you don’t pay off in full you are now paying interest on your card. I did take econ class in high school (basically US financial education, and if it’s not federally required then it’s a mandatory class in my state.) and while it left much to be desired, this was one of the few things we learned. Basically the biggest lesson from that class was interest sucks and you should avoid it at all costs in anything, wether it be a credit card, payment plan, loan, etc. Always try to pay outright if you can, and reduce your credit usage to what you can actually afford. We would literally do the math to show how much more money you spend over time.

Like every trend does on social media, it’s devolved into another consumerist “spend money” issue, but on Tiktok and other places there’s a trend of “going analog” and returning to old tech. Okay not “full analog” as some people were using mp3 players and 3DS as a way of returning to tech that doesn’t talk you, and those are obv digital and not analog, but that’s the overall spirit of the trend.

The issue is people are going out and buying shit instead of finding what they already have and repurposing it. Use an old phone without a sim card as an mp3 player, or get one used from a friend or a slightly more ethical marketplace rather than a brand new thing you might not use.

I went to AirVPN a few months ago after my Proton was expiring because I needed a VPN with port forwarding. They do a sale every anniversary (somewhre in Spring) and maybe one or two during winter holiday times.

It works like a dream in my homelab (gluetun + qbittorrent) and the Linux GUI client works, although i think you have to keep the app open while using it…

On Android, it’s been jank. Like at first, it worked without issue and was great. But within the past few weeks, sites won’t load, I’ll have to refresh it often, and just general issues. This is happening both on my Graphene Pixel and my stock Galaxy Tablet. I think the Fire TV works well enough.

I did a speed test when I first got it, and for my laptop it only seemed to decrease by a little.

Not the original guy, but I went to Fedora (Silverblue) first, because I heard so much about Ubuntu being shit and basically slightly less corpo infested Windows. I had Fedora recommended to me by a person I know + privacy guides recommends it I think.

I just wanted a simple distro that is seen as privacy respecting for anyone who didn’t want to go into the deep end of Tails OS and the like.

Silverblue is atomic, which is typically advertised as “Noob-proof” since you can’t really touch the OS and system files itself. But I like to tinker a little and found it frustrating to work around, so I ended up going with regular Fedora Plasma KDE. Been a year or almost 2 now and it’s been great. My biggest “normal” issue was bluetooth and touchpad issues. Bluetooth issue was caused by not doing a full power cycle after a kernel update, and touchpad was randomly disabling itself in settings for some reason… The other issues were needing specific software for class purposes like VirtualBox (signing keys and shit for virtualization ig) or coding apps (had to start it in terminal).

Wifi blew up once and tried to troubleshoot to no avail, a reboot or two later and it fixed itself 🙏

We definitely got Parental Controls on them by the time I got to middle school (6th grade), and it qas fucking egregious. I try to look up scientific or real world things for project purposes like “Barn Swallow”, “Guitara Latina”, or “Sperm Whale” and get my search blocked because of certain “keywords” in them…

By highschool that didn’t really happen anymore, but they probably were still blocking the usual porn sites (I never tried to look that shit up cause ew. And I’m not fucking dumb enough to do it on a school laptop and ESPECIALLY not on their network)

We got our homescreens locked to a preset background, couldn’t touch half the system settings, terminal was completely locked/inaccessible. I think social media sites were also blocked, I used to have to put my (shitty free VPN that had ads, forgive me for being dumb) VPN on to get around the block. But i only ever did that on my phone, not my laptop (still was connected to the School wifi tho).

I was a pretty straight-laced kid throughout school (friends? whomst?) so I never tried to do half of that on my Chromebook, even gaming. By HS I pretty much stopped going to places like coolmathgames, which is probably what teachers are complaining about. I do remmber people somehow making an entire google slide of links to bootlegged games (really shitty laggy Fnaf), can’t remember the website name tho.

Tbf, the IT capabilities probably vary vastly across school districts, and the schools themselves.

Miss/Sharkey is more like Twitter but if it was pretty/customizable and with a pinch of overstimulation imo. The JP origins is what gives it the overstimulation (the reaction emotes, oh my god…)

I bought 4 1TB drives way back around like 2020-2021 I think, and it was a little under $100, which I covered with an amazon giftcard. It’s been running lovely in my mirror zfs raid for about half a year now. Okay well the shitty Orico drive bay has caused some overheating but otherwise the drives themselves are fine.

Now, like 1 of those drives would be about $70-80+ at cheapest…

Sure, I’ll give you that. But I would assume a person wouldn’t put their phone/laptop password in a password manager as you use it every day. And if you were really planning crazy shit you should keep it on your local device and not posted to your Twitter account imo.

Edit: Even better? Keep your passwords saved locally. Still have to crack the phone to even ask you to open your manager app.
