I think you’ll be heavily affected by AI in that field as well. From possibly having LLMs as a first level support agent (already common in corporate customer support) to having to help people who messed up their PCs by letting their AI agents have full access etc.

Europe@feddit.org•Anti-Drugs activist Amine Kessaci is running for office in Marseille, France 🇫🇷. The drug mafia killed his two brothers. He received a message saying he is next. English
41·2 days agoFrom what I’ve read about him, he’s not. He’s fighting the cartels, but he’s actually criticizing purely punitive measures by the French state for not fighting the root of the problem. He wants to provide a way out for young people who got involved with gangs and drug traficking.

Political Discussion and Commentary@lemmy.world•Will US have any consequences for its actions ever?English
30·2 days agoNo empire lasts forever and I think the US’ is already in decline. A large part of America’s global power is its network of allies and Trump is doing massive damage to those relations. Places like Europe are pushing for more independence and self-sufficiency. The Gulf states are being bombed thanks to America starting a war - no doubt they’ll rethink their relations somewhat after that. At the same time, China’s power and network of allies is steadily growing, without them starting wars left and right. So even if the US elects a sane president again, I think the damage will have been done. They will never be as trusted by their allies as they had been in the post-WW2 world order and they will steadily lose their global influence.

In deren aktuelles Flugtaxi-Modell passen 2 Personen.

Fairphone@lemmy.ml•6 years, 4 fairphone products. My honest review.
2·2 days agoWhat helped a lot for me with the camera was installing one of the unofficial GCam ports (BSG). Using that, it takes quite decent photos (with the regular lens, ultrawide is still pretty bad). Only problem is that the live camera view is oddly laggy, both on GCam and the built-in app. Hopefully that can be fixed with a software update at some point.
*Keep Android Open. This has nothing to do with Open Source.

Fairphone@lemmy.ml•6 years, 4 fairphone products. My honest review.
8·2 days agoThere is no link, this is an image post. Anyway, “No Updates” is interesting when the next post on the community is about the latest software update.
I’m pretty new to fairphones, so obviously I can’t speak to the longetivity aspect yet. But so far, I’m quite happy with the hardware and performance. Does everything I need it to and with great battery life. Having looked on their store, I also don’t find the spare parts overpriced.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's your opinion on utilizing our resources to further our ability to travel in space?
27·5 days agoIn the short term, we should probably focus on fixing our problems on earth. Some space research should still be funded, but not as a major priority. Once we finally have our shit together, we can start exploring the stars.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What kind of car do you drive, and what kind do you wish you did?
2·5 days agoKia EV3. It’s generally nice and I don’t want a different one. But I’d prefer not to drive a car if that were practical for me right now.

5·5 days agoNicht eher das “normale” römische Reich? Westrom hatte Germanien kaum noch unter Kontrolle und Konstantin war vor der Teilung Kaiser.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•whats your favorite long running and active media franchise?
9·5 days agoProbably Middle Earth/The Lord of the Rings. (1937-2026)
I really liked how the 48fps version of the Hobbit looked (even though the movies themselves were mediocre).

Games@lemmy.world•Are achievements still relevant in 2026—especially when mods disable them?English
2·6 days agoFor me, they’re just a nice to have. I don’t actively chase them or anything, but it’s sometimes neat to see when I did a thing that only 1% of players managed to do. I personally don’t care that they’re public. If I did, I imagine I’d have a private Steam profile anyway, so the achievements would be a moot point. I don’t see a meaningful difference between publishing my achievements and my other game activity like play times.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Did you drink alcohol when you were younger than me?
2·6 days agoNot regularly or often, but yes. It’s actually legal from the age of 14 here (under parental supervision and only lower-alcohol stuff like beer). So I’d have a bit here or there for special occasions like New Year’s Eve. From the age of 16 you’re allowed to drink unsupervised. At that point some of my classmates already got drunk regularly. I never liked alcohol (or rather its effects) that much though and to this day I’ve never been drunk. These days I might drink something like a glass of wine every few weeks or so.

Europe@feddit.org•‘Bitter result’ for Friedrich Merz as Greens win in German car heartlandEnglish
18·6 days agoI don’t think anything like that is likely to happen. The leading CDU-candidate has already publicly conceded to the Greens. Also the Greens and CDU have successfully governed with each other for years here, so there’s no way they’ll be desperate enough to consider a coalition with the AfD, with all the fallout that would bring.

Europe@feddit.org•‘Bitter result’ for Friedrich Merz as Greens win in German car heartlandEnglish
32·6 days agoThe Greens are a center-left party that focuses on environmental issues in most of Germany. But their local branch in Baden-Württemberg is way more centrist and even economically conservative, without a big focus on environmental issues. For example, they’re quite friendly towards the car industry, which is big in BW. This has made them very successful in a state that was firmly in the grips of the christian-conservative CDU for many decades. But it has kind of alienated them from the rest of the Greens.

Europe@feddit.org•‘Bitter result’ for Friedrich Merz as Greens win in German car heartlandEnglish
55·6 days agoYeah, but still, a win against the CDU is a win against the CDU. Also nice to see a person of Turkish descent become MP for the first time.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is your oldest living presence on the World Wide Web?
4·6 days agoThere’s a Pokemon fan forum that I originally joined around 2004 I believe. They’ve had a relaunch since then, so my current account is “only” from 2009 though. I’m still ocassionally active on there, along with like 5 other users.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•I get Scandinavian DNA, but where does Spanish DNA come from?
41·7 days agoWell, it comes from Spain. Even if all your American ancestors came from Norway (which is unlikely), people in Europe have been intermixing for millennia. “Pure blooded” people don’t exist.
