I’m genuinely curious, where are theses numbers from? Could you please cite the source of your graphs?

This is som weird metaphor… So some people get voluntary “cancer” in hope theycan fight it and it will benefit them in the long run, and some don’t. While someone will have just the benefits and not the cancer while everyone chips in.
I get that in the long run highly educated people tend to pay more taxes. So makeing education affordable in is a net benefit for everyone. But this analogy is just weird…
I don’t know man, at the end of the day it is unfair, and making fun of that seems inappropriate.
To be honest I do feel a bit silly continuing this. However, are you trying to say that socialism is not a leftist mode of government? How would you categories the policies of socialist/communist dictatorships, centrist? Workers were not above the law, and had no input what sad laws were. But workers did own the factoryies and the kolhoz. Most of these governments collapsed because they lost the support of the proleteriat (workers). It was not the will power of the political elites that hold it to gether, but the millions of workers sincere belief that they are making the world a better place.
Social democracy is good to live in; yeah true. Leftism (in general) is bestism; hell no.
I agree. But I don’t get why are you saying it like that. It was a socialist, authoritarian state. All of these countries were at the time. Maybe I’m missing something.
Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Chekoslovakia, Poland, the whole USSR. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_parasitism_(offense) Yugoslavia and Albania were socialist too but I’m not sure if there was law against unemployment there.
What are you talking about? When i was born in the '80s, being unemployed for more than a few month was criminal offense in most socialist European countries. Leftism is beneficial in moderation, but definitely not every leftism is bestism if this is your only criteria for “bestism”
You shouldn’t. People are more likely to be interested in who you are as a person than your country’s politics. You might get some negative bias, true. But you can work pass that.
I’m from the country of Orban, and I do feel shame sometimes saying that. But I have rarely experienced anything more than some cold looks.
The everyday folks who support a dictator tend no to travels abroad. People outside your country are not exposed to them :)
Ate a what?
Oh no… no no no no no! This cannot be real

So… If you click on the little 2 at the end of: “The codes are administered by the International Federation for Produce Standards (IFPS), a global coalition of fruit and vegetable associations that was formed in 2001 to introduce PLU numbers globally.[2]”
It will take you to: https://web.archive.org/web/20150310160444/http://www.ifpsglobal.com/AboutIFPS.aspx
Scroll down to members. I counted 14 organization from at least 11 countries. So yeah , even the 20 was a streach.
This is what I ment. Sorry if it was not clear.
About the other thing, it is subjective. I would not consider something effecting less then 10% of the countries a global thing. But you do have a point there.
Well… if you check the link, it is like 20 country. Hardly a global standard.
It’s a ridiculous ad so people would talk about it and it seems it’s working…
AAAA… <inhales> aaaaaaaa!

Games@lemmy.world•what video game deserves to be in a museum?English
4·3 months agoEvery opinion is valid and people can disagree with it. But have you considered that there are museums of torture devices, or substance abuse. In that spirit what are the games that could should be remembered as a cautionary tale? For me it would be heroes3, minecraft, rimworld. These took most of my life (rotted most of my brain).

2·6 months agoGood talk MudMan. Sorry that I dumped this on you! I have these episodes sometimes. You are a wonderful person.
Dedicating your life throwing paper planes down a cliff sounds very nihilistic though… Agree to disagree?

1·6 months agoAccepting that there is no meaning of life or that no one is ment for anything is pretty nihilistic. But that is OK, I have nothing against nihilism.
Back to your point, reproducing should be everyone’s concise choice. Going “quietly into th night”, choosing extinction, being selected out by evolution has always been an option. Just becouse trillions of your ancestors, dating back to single celled organisms reproduced doesn’t mean you have to.
Putting all tomfuckery aside, depression and extreme anxiety is likely lowering human diversity and we don’t even know how dire this will be. Humanity as a whole will probably adapt to this environment, as people too susceptible will have no kids. I did come close to removing my self from the game my self twice. Got lucky; got some good medication; pull my self out of that mass. Though I got old and somewhat infertile, almost missed my window. When you thinkig about stepping in front of a train, you don’t think about having kids. That doesn’t mean you won’t change your mind later.
But you should make your own decisions. You can read the opinions of internet randos like me, but the decision will always be yours.

No offense, but it is very misleading. I’m not necessarily disagree what you are saying, but my first impression was that it is based on data, and you know, not just your opinion.
