  • After reading her paper I counted only 3 sentences that seem to directly address the article it’s supposed to be a response to. And those sentences are fluffy filler like stating the article was “thought provoking.” The rest of the 2 pages is a full on religion paper. There was easily a way to get her point across about disagreeing with the premise while still actually addressing what the article stated.

I’m not claiming to be some amazing writer but that reads like something I would have thrown together in high school when I procrastinated and only had 10 minutes before the assignment was due. Just yikes. I feel dumber for having read that.

  • This is a disgrace. From an npr article I read about this the “evidence” of him being a gang member completely boiled down to because “we say he is.” They claim their “proof” can’t be elaborated on at all because it’s sensitive national security information when this clown show administration has literally been discussing confidential military strategies in fuckin Signal.

They shit out the flimsiest of pretenses and their brainwashed base eats it up like it’s goddamn caviar. Nope, it’s literal shit.

  • Trump’s relationship with Project 2025 is giving Austin Power’s “that’s not my penis pump” scene vibes, but much less amusing.

The unfortunate thing is that I can attest to this whole charade is at least working on some conservatives (ie my dad) who has earnestly told me that Trump said he’s not involved in 2025 and that he won’t implement abortion restrictions at the federal level. So it’s all okay!!! And how that means that I should vote for Trump now…as if that was the one singular problem I have with the perpetual lying cheeto.

  • I feel like Harry Potter became mainstream/popular in my area roughly around the release of the third book. Or at least that’s when I remember becoming aware of the series. I was in elementary school and attended a small non-denominational christian school. It kind of just depended on the families, some were fine with it, like mine was. My mom read the first book to my younger brother and I as part of our nightly reading together. It was just emphasized that this was a fun fictional story and not real. There were other families who didn’t like the concept of magic but were otherwise ambivalent, and of course some were convinced it was all a ploy by satan trying to convert children to witchcraft. The details are all pretty fuzzy, but I think the stances generally tended to follow the denomination of the family, but not always.
