Idk I read it as her mocking the guy through her lawyer. Kinda like “I didn’t think I needed to disclose because I thought ‘you could always tell’ and I wasn’t exactly trying to hide it. I didn’t really think I could if I tried.” But that might be because I tend to read this kind of stuff as if it’s being said by James Spader as Alan Shore.
