Everything openai releases right now is a desperate attempt to many money, any money, on the product they’ve spent billions of dollars making. They have a solution in need of a problem.

The only claim that could, MAYBE, show AI is not a gigantic bubble, would be to replace workers (and that brings a shit ton of other problems)… the fact they are now flirting with tik tok clones (sora2), porn and now this browser (which is nothing but chrome with plugins we already have) is proof they have nothing to show for the billions invested…

I know the popping of this bubble will be bad but the sooner it happens, the better

Top YouTube comment nails it. We’re doubling and tripling down on obscene investments in environment-threatening infrastructure - and for what? For a pure convenience product that isn’t even reliable.

So I tried the Claude browser integration for a workflow that required copying data from one tab into another, and filling out dozens of form fields.

It failed miserably and was dog slow.

In fact, I spent as much time fixing it as it would have taken for me to just do the work myself.

It would scroll and forget, scroll and miss fields, click the wrong things. You had to babysit it, you could not leave it to run in the background due to reliability.

So after giving it an earnest try for a real world simple but annoying task, these types of tools aren’t worth using. It really can’t get simpler than copy and paste.

It also protested that this would take a lot of clicks and it didn’t want to do it. Yeah, automating mundane tasks is the whole point of using AI, right?
