It’s one of the best state in the US.
Highest life expectancy. One of the most progressive tax system. Great labor rights. Free tuition for students with a family income under $80,000. 10,000 Lakes.
There is some fraud scandal, and suddenly, it’s all we hear about.
-
Trump administration talks about it 24/7. They claim some somali family stole $1 billion, $2 billion, $5 billion, $10 billion. What’s the next figure? 800 billion?
-
The Murdoch family (Fox News, New York Post) talks about it 24/7
-
Elon Musk promotes “Fraud in Minnesota” content on X.
-
Joe “Rogan” and these dumbass youtube influencers show up and start saying Tim Waltz is incompetent and corrupt.
It turned into scapegoating Minnesota. One fraud scandal and it’s all they talk about 24/7.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump gives pardons to convicted fraudsters and no one bats an eye.

The Senator representing Florida (Rick Scott) was criminally convicted for defrauding Medicaid and Medicare with fake invoices, but he says Minnesota is corrupt.
Go fuck yourselves
Minnesota is an example of successful progressive policies, so right wing media and politicians lose their shit over it. Not that hard to wrap your head around.
It’s right wing propaganda my friend. That’s it.
They’ve been doing the same thing to California for decades. Yes, CA has some real problems but these are just run on repeat 24/7 on Fox News while never mentioning the good things.
If a state leans Democratic and is doing well, they will nonstop try to tear it down because if they didn’t some of their voters might see it and start questioning things.
I moved to CA for a job and really loved my experience there. The whole time that I was there my dad (Fox-News-pilled) would talk to me on the phone and try to tell me how bad CA was. I was like seriously? I live here and you’ve never been here. How the heck are you trying to tell me how bad it is?

Most of California’s problems (like most places in the US) come from the neoliberalism in our government.
They try to pretend that California is communist or some shit, but most of its affordability problems (housing prices, utility prices, etc.) come from the invisible hand(job) of the free market.
YES. Well said.
Also Minnesota has some of the best canoeing landscapes on earth!! Never been but it doesn’t seem like words or pictures can convey the intensity of beauty.
I’m a service tech headquartered in the Mississippi river valley and the the beauty of this landscape is just awe inspiring. I was born and raised here so I tend to take it for granted but there are still days where it just takes my breath away. I’ll be driving my van out to some random site in the middle of nowhere and I will cut through a pass in the bluffs where I see the golden hour sunlight shining off the valley below me; it is just indescribable. I’ve been all over the country and the only places in the country that rival the natural beauty of our regular rural areas are actual national parks like yellowstone or the badlands.
Everyone was more excited about the Walz part of the Harris / Walz ticket. So of course they want to talk shit about us.
Also we have the longest steak of voting for a Democrat in a presidential election. Every other state is just jealous. MN is the best
Yeah I really think this is the main reason for the sudden uptick in negative propaganda. RNC didn’t want Walz being on the national ticket again in 2028.
That and the current Democratic chairman Ken Martin ran the MN DFL for years. So lots of reasons to make up hate
As a Minnesotan, I didn’t realize there was hate towards the state
ive literally never heard of any hate. donchaknow.
It’s the Canada of the USA.
It may appear to be racism. I mean it is racism but they’re trying to manufacture a crisis to blame Walz
Anything but Epstein
I have never heard anyone hate on Minnesota, and I think it sounds like a great place to live.
Also, I do not consume nazi controlled media.
A successful Blue state, no wonder MAGA hates it.

It’s an awesome place, but you have to love cold weather. I like it some, but Minnesota Winter is beyond my tolerance level.

I can reassure you that I, for one, don’t hate Minnesota.
In fact, I don’t think about it at all, because it’s a place halfway around the world I didn’t even know existed. I thought Weird Al made it up as a funny-sounding place name that has a big twine ball.
Trying to make it another Portland or Chicago for the reich wing. Their one-stop shopping for prejudicial stereotypes and “what’s wrong with America.” They’re like schoolyard bullies without an original thought that keep harping on whatever taunt that worked before.
If you’re getting hate from the right, it probably means you’re doing right by most people.
Nowhere is perfect and there are some VALID criticisms.
Y’all have winter for 7 months out of the year. Don’t you lie to out of staters and say there isn’t snow in May. The only months I ain’t never seen snow in is July and August and I’m pretty sure there are records of snow in July.
And it’s not just any winter. I have seen the ass crack of -54F during a polar vortex. On more than one occasion it’s been colder than the surface of Mars.
When it finally starts to melt you have a season dedicated entirely to ticks.
I do miss it in the summertime though. I like humidity and thunderstorms. And fireflies when there used to be fireflies.
But FUCK the mosquitoes. I literally had to sleep under mosquito netting. That’s what 10,000 lakes gets ya.
Source: lived up north for way too long. Fucked off back to the land of perpetual rain where I belong. Yes, I couldn’t hack it. Y’all are tough, I’ll give you that.
Don’t worry, climate change has killed most of the mosquitos and made the winters generally more mild. Heck, a couple winters ago I didn’t even get to break out the shovel!
I had a flat tire (no spare) situation while driving through Minnesota in the mid 90s. I was on a rural state rd and had to hike about a 1/4 mile back to the last house I’d passed. I knocked hoping to use a phone for a tow truck. Ladie answered the door with two babies on her hip and about 6-8 other little ones (walker types) surrounding her. I explained my situation and she handed me the keys to her only car, told me about a town 8 miles one way and a bigger one 9 miles the other way. That kindness wrapped up in under 5 minutes from the knock to me pulling out of her driveway in her car. I’ve never been back to Minnesota but that one experience has left the impression that Minnesota contains the best Americans that America has to offer.
It’s one of my favorite states I’ve ever been to. Amazing food, amazingly friendly people, it’s got it all.
