A recurring problem with joining extremist organizations is that eventually it will outpace your personal extremist views and behaviors … and then you will be a victim of it.

“First they came for the …” is about people that were Nazis but not Nazi enough … and in a Nazi-like society no one except Trump/Hitler will ever be Nazi enough to not be culled until the leaders cull themselves.

And remember that when they cull the bottom group that creates a new bottom group by definition. and eventually that new bottom group is gonna include you.

and they not gonna stop culling because of you

This is where if police departments wanted to gain credibility, they’d be arresting the ICE agents for assault with a deadly weapon.

Qualified immunity has a “reasonableness” portion to it. It’s a pretty strong argument that ICE isn’t being reasonable if a cop arrests them for assaulting a cop.

If cops have qualified immunity that is very often used to say cops can easily get away with murder, and agents have Vance blanket twitter pardons, can they just all kill each other with no legal consequences?

Qualified immunity protects government actors from civil penalties (lawsuits) as a result of their actions while on duty and when not violating the constitutional/civil rights of citizens (that’s the “qualified” part). I.e., you can’t sue the cops for the damage to your doorframe after they kick your door in serving a warrant. It does not protect government actors from criminal prosecution and does not grant them license to violate existing laws, and it never has.

This is also true for ICE, which is why Vance and Stephen Miller are suddenly so keen to start screeching that they think ICE now magically has “absolute” immunity, which there is also no legal basis for whatsoever. Those pulling the strings know that ICE is in fact routinely breaking the law, and they’re desperately trying to get out ahead of it while anyone believes that any shred of equal protection under the law still exists.

“Now that it happened to us too, it’s a serious problem. This needs to change.” Fucking jagoff pieces of shit couldn’t have cared less when it was the same people that they bully being oppressed by ICE. The shoe’s on the other foot, and now it’s a crisis.

So what’s going to win with the other police officers in the country? “Back the blue” and support their fellow cop, or racism and back ICE?

This is true and extremely funny.

          Fuck you, I’m a cop!

Fuck you, you’re a racist slur removed!

That pretty much is how that goes.

I used to say “support all ICE victims” but now I guess I have to make an exception.

I’m not usually one to indulge in schadenfreude, but yeah when ICE comes for the cops I guess I’ll just grab my popcorn.

Since ICE officers don’t normally carry identification, or badges, or even show their face, there’s nothing illegal about dressing up as an ICE officer as long as you don’t actually claim to be an officer, right?

Yeah but then that potential wake-up call gets put through the 2026 filter and out the other end comes… “Trump claims Harlem should be carpet bombed and casino parking garage built – midwest gang violence the last straw even if it was Law Enforcement gangs this one time.”

OR, the situation becomes a case of mutually-assured destruction, like the Cold War. The cops don’t want that fight, and the Panthers know it. ALL Cops are cowards at their core, they can’t exist in society without carrying an arsenal, and elevating themselves above their fellow citizens. They won’t engage someone they KNOW is equally armed, and BETTER TRAINED, and knows the law better.

They’d rather go after poor working people just trying to get by. They are more compliant, and can’t afford lawyers.

After what ICE has been doing, is it such a big betrayal of your fellow law enforcement to say that ICE needs to be abolished, and a NEW agency, with a new leadership who is committed to establishing a new culture must replace it?

There is no end result they are looking for. This is the totality of their goal, using red state chuds to terrorize blue state citizens. This makes them feel powerful and gives them stuff to post online.
