I knew this would start eventually, but I can’t help being shocked that we’re here.
it is a shock, VUMC was the main hospital providing gender affirming surgeries for the entire region - people traveled from all over the midwest and southeast to go there; they employed some of the best surgeons imo as well, you would have to go to NYC, CA, or Thailand to get similar results AFAIK.
I worry that we are seeing the end of gender affirming care in America
after the recent ruling that states are free to ban gender affirming care for adults, I worry the same
(at least gender affirming care for trans people, obviously cis people meanwhile will still enjoy access to the same procedures and medications without question)
Maybe it will be re-legalized in a decade or two…
I hope so - it’s hard to gauge how bad it will get.
I’m hoping for some kind of miracle, but I fully expect we’ll be put in “Medical De-transition Camps”
They’ll be putting trans women on the sex offender registry for using public toilets.
