Imo, that’s the perfect reason to delete a post. Lemmy and piefed don’t yet have a way to temporarily turn them off, so deleting just makes sense.
Mind you, anyone can delete any post they make for any reason, I’m just saying that being overwhelmed is a damn good one.

it was easy to read all the glazing and sweet compliments, but im pretty weird and i was not sure how to explain myself or respond to certain other comments.
i also have trauma related to being bullied by cishet guys and i was having unreasonable strong reactions to commemts that were saying they were from cishet guys. I want to believe in allies and i dont want to judge people but i am definately pretty damaged and messy and was scared of embaressing myself or being unhinged and making people hate me.
I totally get it.
Even thirty years on, I carry some trauma from my teenage years. You just stick to your pace, your comfort levels. The rest of us can be patient as you grow and bloom.
