FYI for anyone in his district: Jeffries has a Democratic primary challenger this June — Vance Bostic, a working-class guy who as far as I can tell hasn’t had a lot of press, but if you live in Brooklyn and are a registered Democrat it’s probably worth checking him out.

Just count Jeffries and congressional Democrats out of everything. They’re determined to do nothing substantive with whatever power we give them, again. They’re a corporate donor maintenance organization, not a political party, not leaders, and certainly not advocates for any civic ideology other than whatever positions reinforce their ability to perform the above maintenance project.

Yeah. It shows that the current opposition party will always be against a national threat to democracy and pedophilic rapist.

It puts all of the blame solely on the party destroying everything and shows the democratic constituency that their votes matter.

I think I am growing to hate the worthless, centrists in this country even more everyday. How does one compromise with a rapist? With a pedophile? How do you compromise with a seditious traitor who sells our secrets to the highest bidder openly?

The fact we aren’t in a war already shows that the country has already fallen and the Democrats aren’t any way back to normalcy. They COMPROMISE with domestic terrorists that have killed science and education, farmers, cancer patients, children, etc.

      WORTHLESS

I was leaning toward, ‘without winning the Senate its a waste of time when there are so many other pressing concerns.’

But no, you’re right, they have to walk and chew pedo-gum at the same time. They have to take action against the ongoing national threat, and they have to move the country on from these people’s dystopic vision of the US. Its a necessary part of the program.

It’d also have the tactical benefit of distracting from the WH regime’s program, and allow political space for wavering Republicans to push back against certain excesses lessening the damage the WH is able to carry out from that point.

Am impeachment is just a trial. Unless the dens can get enough seats in the Senate that are willing to convict and remove trump an impeachment where Trump refuses all congressional subpoenas for him and the rest of the Epstein administration is meaningless.

Looks like there are republican Democrats that need to be replaced as much as Republicans are.

You have got to be fucking kidding me. That is quite literally the easiest and most free political slam dunk possible. These people have brain damage.

When asked if impeachment was a top priority, Jeffries said “of course not” during an appearance on “Fox News Sunday.”

He was on fox news when he said this; most likely, given the dems have already tried to impeach trump twice, he was trying to give the fascists a way to rationalize accepting dems winning the house. Besides this is a completely reasonable thing - unless dems win the senate too it shouldn’t be the priority to do something completely pointless.

The last 2 times just shows it’s a waste of time until they have the votes in the Senate to convict and remove him from office.

It’s clearly on his mind, he’s been mentioning it out of nowhere lately. He doesn’t want to be impeached for a third time. Now you’re right it won’t actually do anything to the administration, but this is one of those times when the principle matters. It’s worth doing it because he deserves it and it would infuriate him.

Wow, so much for being the party of “Resistance.” Tell me again how we can depend on the neo-liberals to not only do the right thing but also their jobs?

Right. Even if they impeached him, he’s not going anywhere.

It would be better to counter him as much as possible. I just don’t trust Jeffries to do even that.

It’s like you could actually do both.

Also even though the chance of having the Senate follow through is basically nil, I still believe having public impeachment hearings where these assholes actually press the matter, bring the facts and be as explicit and dramatic with the facts as possible with the American public, because let’s face it Americans are too dumb to be all about the facts, about the unconstitutional things he’s done and how he AND the Republican party + Fetterman are responsible for the spike in every things for the American people. You don’t have to remove Trump in order for an impeachment to be successful.

But then again with these spinless dicks that call themselves Democrats, maybe it is better that they don’t have impeachment hearings because they would softball everything just like last times and get no point across.

It’s meaningless anyhow if they don’t follow up with removing him from office. They’d be better off with their standard form strongly worded letter.
