I’m not talking about anything specific but if you want to avoid them then beware of tags like “living armour” or “cursed armour”, sometimes goes by “enchanted armour” too
Undead Unluck has a character who constantly regenerates his body and wears a mimic as clothing. It would be pretty practical for adventuring.

Hypothetically, could a mimick turn into the beer, get drank by the barbarian, and then turn into a giant causing the barbarian to explode?
In 3.5 at least, if you’re in a space that isn’t big enough for you to change size, RAW you just…don’t.
You don’t have to change size to become something of the same size that is razor sharp and next to some very unarmored innards.
Good thing Barbarians got unarmored defense and proficiency at Constitution saving throws. Chances are the whole mimic just gets digested like a snack.
If the mimic wanted to be clever maybe they should have targeted the rogue or something.
Now I’m picturing a barbarian eating razor blades as an intimidation technique
In 3.5 you can attack unarmed or with a light weapon when you’re swallowed whole, and I’d say that qualifies. But it’s not an instant-kill.
Extra points for waiting until at least the kidney to do it.
