16·25 days agoIt’s fucking everywhere in Spanish language sites. “Pay to reject cookies” is apparently legal because you have a clear way to reject the cookies, even if not free. And since they’re not in English, sometimes they’re not in the archives. I hope someone builds a strong legal case against this soon.
The way I saw it, Brolin’s subconscious was telling him that the kids had been transformed into objects at that time. The gun imagery, in-universe, comes from Brolin’s character’s toxic masculinity. Out-of-universe it reinforces the school shooting allegory.
Superman (2025). The only movie in recent years that has made me feel genuine hope towards humanity and the world.
Username checks out.
As for Weapons, when I finished it I thought, “okay movie”. Then the more I thought about it and the symbolism started clicking, the more amazed I was. I need to rewatch it with everything in mind.

It looks amazing on you!
Hateful families are the elephant in the room for queer youth. The defensive approach that dominates the discourse in the US (and so spreads to the rest of western countries) that is all but “let the parents and only the parents decide about their kids’ care” sacrifices those of us with hateful and unsupportive families. Trans youth will never thrive as long as minors keep being considered their parents’ property.
Another w for the underground transgender mafia.

Transphobes care about it, a lot. The material changes may be minimal, and harm cis women more than they’ll harm trans women. But they use the “sports issue” as a way to introduce the idea of excluding trans people from public life to mainstream debate. Here’s prominent transphobe Helen Joyce admitting to it publicly:

5·2 months agoTo a lot of transphobes, all trans people are men, even though they probably won’t state it this clearly. It’s the idea under e. g. the FIDE rulings.
I hope they keep the “Hitler was an amateur” scene.
Juxtaposition of the colorful, clean rainbow aesthetic with the grey-black, punk/grunge “trash goblin” aesthetic a lot of trans and queer people adopt.
