Expectations are a lot different for high schoolers than adults in their 20s. I absolutely got rejected quite a bit in my 20s for living with my parents. Not by everyone but it was common. My 20s mostly came after the 2008 collapse, coincidentally or not.
This is in the US by the way and I’m sure it’s a cultural thing. In many countries, living with your parents until you’re financially stable or married is normal.

I saw a great video once that went into how the economic situation is largely responsible for the cultural shift from “adult” as a thing you are to “adulting” - a thing you do. That from Millenials onwards, generations don’t feel economically secure enough to partake in traditional cultural norms of middle-class adulthood. Things like buying a house and popping out 2.5 kids.

aside from the social reasons, there is a general decline in testosterone over time in the population, probably due to estrogen-like compounds from plastic. So yeah, people are less horny. Doesn’t mean they are not horny, just less.
Don’t forget other factors, like stress, poor diet, reduced physical activity, and obesity. At least in the United States, all of these things are worse than ever.
