HRT Cafe, a grassroots database of tutorials, resources, and information on hormone replacement therapy (HRT), closed its doors earlier this week.
The website, which was maintained by a small, anonymous group of developers, was considered one of the biggest resources for ‘DIY’ HRT in the UK.
Developers shuttered the site unexpectedly earlier this week. No official statement has been published, only that its developers were no longer accepting donations.
Its closure came just days after a number of right-wing news outlets, including The Daily Signal, published articles on ‘DIY’ vendors citing HRT Cafe and other resource sites. Gender-critical pundits also posted on social media to suggest this was just the first step in getting additional resource sites shut down.
Corrected the article even further because it doesn’t get the point enough across how bad this is:

Its closure came just days after a number of fascist(oid) news outlets doxxed these medical hubs, naming dozens of resource and aid sites. Transphobes also threatened on social media to suggest this was the first step in enabling their systematical, organised and intentional genocide of HRT-seeking people.
We therefore call upon society, upon all the good people of this world, to support HRT Cafe in the fight for general wellbeing, against hatred and mass murder.

Not saying this isn’t bad, but I’m not seeing any statements from the hrtcafe admins here and for months (have a look at the wayback machine), the site has had a banner at the top saying it’s unmaintained for a site redesign and directing visitors elsewhere. Other sites remain up. This feels a lot like the pink news getting ad $$$ from scaring us trans folks (who are reasonably terrified as it is).
Plenty of stuff has at least been archived and we’ve backed up some resources ourselves. Still, makes me anxious :/
was there anything on there that couldn’t simply be put in a git repo? seems to me it should be very easy to ensure this never happens again
