That’s just how Gorillaz is drawn tbf. Even now, their design is still influenced by a more edgy era with harsh angles and defined features.

2D is called that because they got hit on both sides of the head hard enough to get 2 dents which caused damage to their eyes. Their front teeth probably got knocked out for similar reasons, and it was almost certainly the bass player’s fault.
For the uninitiated, Gorillaz is a virtual band of animated characters, producing music and videos that portray their lore and exploits. 2D is the singer (actually voiced by Damon Albarn of Blur fame). The other character in the image is the Noodle, the supersoldier guitarist from who joined the band at age 10.
I don’t get it. Am I dumb?
