transcription: i think the single most unrealistic part of superman 2025 was when it was announced that supermans kryptonian parents told him to have a harem and it was exclusively met with fear and disgust. i KNOW ther wouldve been at least five dedicated subreddits that would have thousands being like HOW TO GET INTO SUPERMANS HAREM PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ONE SHOT BIG BLUE THAT ALL IM ASKING. and then there would be the people on tumblr who also want to be in supermans harem, but the difference is they would be trying to get superman pregnant.

All of those nerd questions about if supermans super sperm would shoot right through Lois Lane’s spinal column, crippling her, would just become normal conversation.

IIRC, the film didn’t try to show that to be everyone’s reaction, just the mainstream reaction. In controversies like that, the current media landscape would push that disgust narrative, and it would largely be accepted by audiences. There would undoubtedly be individuals and online communities who disagree with that narrative, but they would largely be ignored or misconstrued by mainstream forces.

And that makes sense with the film’s main themes too. One of Superman’s greatest traits is his ability to inspire other people, even when there are forces pushing other narratives against him.

“Look, all I’m trying to say is that we don’t know enough about Kryptonian biology to say it can’t happen, merely that it is unlikely by our current understandings.”
