      thanks 😊

my partner said she wanted to take a mental picture of me as I was orgasming and remember it forever, so I suspect she has every intention of repeating her handiwork 😁 (is this real life?)

yeah, I am starting to think that might be true 🫠

once she kissed me in the kitchen and it felt so good that I started to dissociate 🙈 I am pretty sure my brain has a secret mission to rob me of ever feeling pleasure or happiness, but I’m putting up a good fight now to work against it. Somehow I’ve slipped into this fantasy world, it would be nice if I could actually be here to enjoy it.

Have you tried grounding techniques? When you start dissociating, take a slow deep breath, and count 5 things you can see, 4 things you can feel, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, and 1 thing you can taste. Also your partner sounds like a keeper, you should definitely hold onto her!

we’re celebrating our 13 year anniversary this month, I really don’t know how I got this lucky 😭

and thanks for the instructions, I’ll try that out and see if it helps - I’ve used grounding techniques in the past but I’ve also struggled to even recognize when I’m dissociating, so it can be hard to tell when something is helping vs not - but I’ll try it anyway.

One of the grounding exercises I learned about from Peter A. Levine’s Waking the Tiger was something like touching various body parts and using a showerhead to generate sensation and repeating things like “this is my arm” and so on. I’m not sure I ever found that particularly useful, though.

omg same! I get guilty because I know I should be feeling amazing but it’s like my brain just can’t exist in the now.

it felt like I had sex for the first time in my life, I had no idea sex could feel like that 😳

and I would like to think I’ve had some great orgasms, but nothing that approached this - wtf

I feel like I need a doctor to explain what happened to me, like I need a CT scan to make sure there wasn’t a brain bleed 😅 It is weird and hard to describe that flood of emotion and sudden sobbing that happened in the waves crashing from the orgasm. It did feel like lightning in the brain, that it just happened to me.

I’m about 8 months post-op; I was sorta worried it wouldn’t go well, but I seemed to have held up 😅 doctor cleared me at the 6 month mark, but I didn’t trust
