And why should I keep them?
My mom had something similar to this for serving dinner rolls. You put a cloth napkin in the bottom, draped over the sides and all, then put in the rolls, then wrap the cloth napkin around them to hold the steam and warm.
Idk if thats what yours are for, but could be.
First thing I thought of was a dome-style drain guard, kinda like this one
Colanders?
What would you strain that could be so big yet so small?
My balls.
Oh, the scale isn’t apparent from the photo. I was thinking these were more like 10 inches in diameter. In that case, yeah, no clue.
maybe… whole vegetables? not sure, thats a total guess.
These are obviously intended to be serving bowls and I can’t think of any whole fruit or vegetable that we would be put in a bowl for presentation. These gaps are so large that a grape would fall right through them.
I’m thinking closer to zucchini or acorn squash sized vegetables; but maybe a serving bowl would work too?
Then again it might be a multipurpose dish; like this thing:

That’s disgusting! We never used ours for a foot bath.
neither did we, but I got this image off of Facebook or something via googling “vomit popcorn vintage Tupperware bowl” and this was the result I got lol
That’s exactly the picture you should get from that search.
A whole zucchini or acorn squash would cause the bowl to be overcapacity. These things are only five or six inches in diameter.
Yeah, I’m stumped. got no clue… ㄟ( ▔, ▔ )ㄏ
Maybe it’s a fruit basket? Like for apples, oranges, bananas etc.?
how big are they? maybe just for holding fruit?
I’d use them for strawberries. If they’re 5-6" across, that’s about a pint worth
Its hard to tell the scale but they could be useful for separating egg yolks from whites. But the fact that there are two gives me the impression that theyre bigger and not intended for egg seperation lol
Egg separation might be an actual legitimate use for these things. The holes are about exactly the right size to let whites through but no yolks. But I can’t imagine a bowl without a hole in the center for that purpose.
I guess we can’t be certain of the scale. They look way too big for that to me
They are about 5 or 6 inches in diameter
So a whole raw egg would slip through those holes no problem
Friend, this is the internet
I’m going to need that converted to bananas
Are you sure this is kitchenware and not like a planting pot? Those holes could be for drainage
Definitely kitchen. I have no bananas today
They look more like lids to a container that you want to let air in but protect otherwise, like for fruit or something.
I was thinking the same or maybe something hot that you wouldn’t want to get soggy if enclosed (like a bread roll or something) for a while.
I’m thinking it’s totally for serving and not protecting. I can’t see how this would offer any protection.
These are berry bowls, Google it and you’ll see many similar bowls.
They come in different sizes, as do berries. Maybe you can put a banana for scale, which is also a berry so you would fulfill the bowls purpose
Auxiliary support for rather flimsy disposable paper bowls? I’ve seen the same for paper plates in a flatter format.
Washing fruit? Small fruits like grapes or blackberries
