sooo does this count as modern art now? like the kind peeps complain about? i think it gets close to that a bit.
soooo this actually originated as an entirely different post. i drew two figures… spooning. so get ready for maria: after dark and have a look at that drawing.

and i didn’t feel comfy putting that as my next post. so yea, then i made this abstract version instead and thought “oh hey this is a fun pattern matching exercise for peeps” and here we are now, with me having posted it.
i think it gets the correct feels across. lilac is larger, but only by a bit. if you were to hide the lilac layer, you would see that white is about the same size.
that was really important to me: both sides can be whatever size they are and either one can be lilac or white. and if you want to change color, you are allowed to do that.
this almost feels like the ending of a series, but i dont think it is.
i just didn’t want this to be a progression, you know?
because the progression of
- shushing someone onto a chair
- wrapping someone in a blanket and hugging them
- literally spooning them in bed
felt like it would set expectations for the next post. and i dont want that. this is meant to be a fun “oh i wonder what she’ll post today” type thing.
so there u go. have this day 5.5 middle step. tomorrow there will be a new one.
uhh, abstract depictions of awkward stuff can make it less awkward :)

in the alt text (which i write for each post i make), i describe the pink character as being “lilac colored”, but imma assume ur referring to the background.
that pattern mostly emerges because… yea, I commited to posting every day because im trying to distract myself from the month-long wait until i get to see a certain special someone and another someone who i also like again. for more Info on that, see the day 1 post. sooo because of this new “rapid fire” approach… well - im not the most creative, so its to be expected that there are returning characters and themes.
will try to make other stuff too tho. i can’t just be making lilac-nurtures-white posts through the whole month, riiiiiight?

I would be down for a month of lilac-nurtures-white. Maybe with the occasional role reversal where white takes care of lilac this time.
Like obviously you can make what you want but I wouldn’t be opposed to seeing more of this “story” from you. They’re very cute!
oooh, the role reversal is a very fun idea, but see umm…
i already shared this somewhere else, but imma say it again:
these are not just “I want this to happen to me” things, these are also “i want to do this for someone” things.
so in a way, at least in my mind, lilac and white are essentially the same person and im honeslty not sure what would change if white were to to something for lilac. the reason that white is… white-colored is because it shows blushing better, you see? in my mind, maybe they have already reversed roles and the colors just show their current mood… that idea may be worth its own post… maybe… whatever!
anyway, I really like the role reversal idea a looooot- that would be awesome. and maybe specifically because white shows shyness better than lilac, maybe thats what makes it interesting?.. or… hmm… maybe white is always meant to be the character we see the story through, no matter what happens? maybe one day, white will spoon lilac and… we will get to see whites thoughts and calmness?.. but if white takes a giving position, I wanna focus on how very happy white is to make lilac happy and that may be hard to illustrate…
I’m thinking a lot about this as u can see.
I like how you called it a “story” too. now im thinking about… scenarios that aren’t necessarily intimate, but soft and cutie in other ways… that gives me ideas.
if you have any more ideas, I’d looooove to hear them too! i don’t want this to be a dictatorship of me going “white will NEVER give, they will only ever receive and they will never leave the living room!” that feels bad.

this certainly brings up some thoughts, given how much of that bulleted stuff we did with a friend yesterday (especially that last one). it feels wrong to talk about it openly on the internet so we won’t delve into it here, but your writing really… helps.
its not like anything bad happened, it was really fun and awesome!! there have just been some conflicting thoughts amongst us about, like, what our friend may expect and stuff, cuz we aren’t into them romantically. at all.
your notion of progression puts our varying thoughts into so much more perspective, even if it was said for markedly different reasons.

oh wow umm… im not sure about exactly what it is that helped, but I’m really happy that it could. setting boundaries can be hard and feel harsh at times. i hope that y’all (or you? not sure, the profile description didnt mention which one to use… so im using that fir now) can find out how to handle this in a way that feels right. i hope that y’all can find a nice way to go about this.

going a little more in depth, in short we are sapphic and the person we were snuggling with is a boy. and like we are totally okay with snuggling and stuff but we really really don’t want them to get it in their head that we are a romantic opportunity(s).
they are also very very starved for attention & touch so we are unsure they have that self restraint—they are very puppy-like in that regard! we really do care about them and we just don’t want them to become really sad if they end up attempting that route and get told no.
oh well, will hopefully sleep soon and stop imagining my own posts happening to be ans getting all giddy about it…
