But doing crap like this on guard should be grounds for getting a ticket pulled… Permanently.
It shows a complete lack of decision making ability and safety awareness. There are plenty of places to screw around and have this kind of entertainment.
On the guard frequency is not one of them. It’s not a stretch to say people’s lives could be affected due to this utter stupidity. People have died in the air due to a lot less.

Yeesh, ATC being upset makes sense now. I’d assumed they were just meowing on the normal communications frequency they’d otherwise be using.

A person interviewed said that they HAVE heard people meow on guard, the now famous recording wasn’t though, that was just on atc so they’re getting investigated for non-essential comms if it was below 10,000 feet which last I checked isn’t even confirmed. If they were above 10,000 then afaik it was unprofessional but not worthy of any kind of faa intervention.
